2.Rang Triathlon Alpe d'Huez

toent doch gar nicht so streng, doch die Alpe d'Huez machte dieses Rennen zur besonderen Herausforderung.

Geschwommen sind wir im Lac de Verney (Neo, Wassertemp. 16 Grad, kristallklares Wasser).
Mit dem Rennrad via den beruehmten 21 Kehren hoch auf die Alpe d'Huez geradelt,
und die abschliessenden 7km Laufen auf Kies und Asphaltwegen mit ein paar weiteren Hoehenmetern absolviert.

Leider hat es vor und waehrend dem Rennen immer wieder geregnet. Insgesamt haben 1526 Teilnehmer aus 22 verschiedenen Nationen mitgemacht. Bei uns Frauen hat die Hollaenderin Eva Janssen gewonnen.

Das Panorama war sehr imposant, inmitten dieser praechtigen Bergwelt einen solchen Triathlon zu veranstalten, war schon cool.

Xterra Avigliana

it's the secret place to go !

I loved the race there and specially the gorgous village of Avigliana with the typical Piemontese ambiance.

The course was a taff one; long swim in the lake (no wetsuit), 3laps to bike, 4laps on the run, including a lot of climbing and running up a long stair to the stone monument.

We had two transition, one down on the lake, the other one in the middle of the village. The field was small (100 athlets), just perfect. Nearly everbody finished the race and the pasta party was right after the race, instead of the night before; why not !?

Good food and talks till waiting the last finisher and the prize celebration.

I enjoyed the race and the time very much.

And the funny thing was; I have got a big post (ATTENZIONE BUCHE r) on the prize celebration. The sign means; attention hole (it was on the bike course). They put an extra R on the sign and gave it to me.

Italians are funny,

I really like them.

Bike Masters Kueblis, 2.Rang

75km, 2600Hm, bikend durch das herrliche Praettigau,
und es hat richtig Spass gemacht.
Schlussendlich bin ich zweite geworden, hinter der schnellen Antonia Wipfli.

Das Wiedersehen mit dem Stoeckli Team war sehr schoen, da wir alle einen guten Tag gehabt haben (Urs gewonnen, Anita dritte),
abwesend waren Thomas und Koni. Die beiden sind erfolgreich an der Transalp unterwegs. Manuel bereitet sich fleissig auf den Zueri Triathlon vor.
Weitere News folgen bald,
ich freue mich auf den kommenden Sonntag, wo ich in Avigliana, Italy am Start sein werde.

Xterra France, Xonrupt

Spannendes Rennen in Xonrupt

Bei uns Frauen wechselte sich die Spitze von Beginn an ab.
Schlussendlich konnte sich die Französin Marion Lorblanchet auf der letzten Laufrunde durchsetzen und gewann das Rennen.
Mit meinem zweiten Platz bin ich zufrieden. Den dritten Platz belegte Carina Wasle und Sibylle Matter wurde vierte.
Schwimmen war eine große Runde (1700m lang), Massenstart (350 Athleten zusammen), Neopren.
Die Bikestrecke umfasste 2 Runden mit je 717 Hoehenmeter und war gesamthaft 34km lang.
Die Laufstrecke 2 mal 5km, mit ein paar wurzligen Waldpassagen und einem anspruchsvollen Downhill.
Irgendwie bin ich nicht richtig in Fahrt gekommen, oder dann halt zu spaet !
Das Schwimmen lief mir gar nicht gut. In der erste Bikerunde kämpfte ich mich in der Masse herum und trödelte.
Auf der zweiten Runde ging es dann besser, und das Feld hatte sich in die Länge gezogen. Vermehrt konnte ich ein gewisses Risiko eingehen.
Auf der Laufstrecke lief ich zur Leaderin Carina auf, bis mich dann Marion auf der letzten Runde überholte. Ich hatte keine Kraft mehr zum Mithalten und musste sie ziehen lassen.
Ich gönne ihr den Sieg.
Sie hat gut gekämpft und wohlverdient gewonnen.

Die Organisation mit Paul Charbonnier hat einen sehr guten Job geleistet. Wir Xterra Athlteten dürfen auf ein schönes, warmes und gelungenes Xterra Rennweekend zurück blicken.

1th in Waco

one of this perfect days !

nice temperature, race start 8.30am, 5min ride from the homestay place to the race, good music..

then the race;
fast swim for me in the river, no wetsuit,
loved the bike course,
the stairs of the run hurt, but finally I had
just a great race and good legs,
all in the beautiful area of Cameron Park, and
having very nice people around.

On the men side won Conrad Stoltz his second straight Xterra cup race, more results;

Waco news

I have to say;
I really like Texas !
It's not only because of the amazing bike course for the Xterra race (single-trak trails only...riding the course is like one long dance), it's more about the nice people here in Waco, and having a lot of fun with the Hairston's family (who live in Cameron Park!), Mike and his family from Austin and Trevor from San Diego.

I am very excited for the race next Sunday. I met a few athletes yesterday at the meeting in the bike shop, also people from Austalia.

Sundance Cross Country Race

great course, awesome condition, three laps to do, 1h 58min racing time for me and a happy win.
